An exciting full-day trip revealing the secrets and splendor of Bulgarian rose oil production. Begins with arrival in the town of Kazanlak with a tour through the rose fields, where you’ll have an excellent opportunity for some great photos. Then we continue east to the Ethnographic Complex Damascena, located in the heart of the Valley of Roses, where you will learn why Bulgaria is famous for rose oil production, followed by some free time for lunch. Taking on a route between the Balkan and Sredna Gora Mountain, heading to Koprivshtitsa – a small town showcasing the Bulgarian Renaissance architecture in a perfect picture scenery.

07:00 Departure from Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia) meeting point.

Meet us at Vasil Levski Monument, in front of the Embassy of Slovakia (LINK to the meeting point on Google Maps).
Please, arrive at the meeting point at least 10 min earlier. The bus departs at 07:00 am sharp and does NOT wait for any late passengers.

09:30 Arrival in Kazanlak town.

After 2.5 hour drive you will arrive in the town of Kazanlak. Enjoy a tour through the rose fields and grab the opportunity to make some great photos.

11:00 Arrival at the Ethnographic Complex “Damascena”.

Arrival at the Ethnographic Complex “Damascena”, where you'll learn more about the production and use of the Bulgarian rose oil.

12:30 Free time (incl. lunch time).

Some free time for lunch. The guide will be with the group the entire time.

14:30 Stop by the Shipka Memorial Church (and Shipka peak - optional).

A guided visit to the beautiful Russian Orthodox style church of the Nativity by the town of Shipka and if time allows climbing to the Shipka peak for great panoramic views.

16:00 Heading to Koprivshtitsa town.

Taking on a route between the Balkan and Sredna Gora Mountain heading to Koprvishtitsa – small town showcasing the Bulgarian Renaissance architecture in a perfect picture sceneries.

17:00 Arrival in Koprivshtitsa (guided tour of the town).

19:00 Arrival at Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia) - back at the tour meeting point.

  • Dress Code: Dress according to the season & the weather forecast. Especially in summer, bring a sun hat, sun lotion and sunglasses. Please wear comfortable shoes. Sneakers and other kinds of sports shoes are acceptable as well. Please bring an extra layer of clothing and a hat.
    High heels and flip-flops are NOT acceptable!
  • Cash or Card: Kindly note that payment by credit/debit cards is not possible everywhere in the country. For your personal expenses, food, drinks and use of toilet facilities, we recommend you bringing leva in cash with you.
  • Food: There are a few gas stations and small shops along the way where you can buy food, but it’s good to be prepared in advance by bringing a snack with you. The tour is long and exhausting and dining options will be limited.
