Be ready for intriguing local tales, fascinating historical facts, monumental attractions and amazing travel experiences. Plovdiv is a visual and sensual feast – taste it ones and it will keep you hooked for a lifetime. All major highlights of Plovdiv are included in the itinerary.

Your day trip starts with an 9:00 am departure from Al. Nevski Cathedral by air-conditioned minivan for the 2-hour drive to Plovdiv. During the transfer your English-speaking  guide will provide you with brief and interesting information about Sofia, Bulgaria and its countryside. Your first stop is the Old Plovdiv neighborhood or locally known as the Old Town, where all of the major tourist sites are packed in. Plovdiv has 7 iconic hills and is very ancient town, a legitimate reason to be dubbed “The Little Rome”. The Old Town spreads over three of the 7 hills. Head inside and start your a 2-hour guided tour by exploring the maze of cobbled streets (bring comfortable walking shoes!) lined with amazing ancient ruins (Nebet Tepe, Ancient Theater, Roman Stadium) fortification walls, churches and colorful 19th century houses. Visits to the Nebet Tepe Fortification Complex,  Ethnographic Museum, Ancient Theater,  Roman Theater and some of the more important churches are included with an accent in the itinerary. The guided walking tour ends at the main pedestrian and shopping street of the town. You will be given some free time to relax, shop and have lunch (own expense).
Then return to your minibus and head to Sofia. You will arrive at Al. Nevski Square around 5 pm.
